A passion for historic period architecture has led to the creation of meticulously researched miniatures.
Described as a miniaturist, James specialises in custom-built period doll houses and meticulously researches his projects. He has often been commissioned to build English and American period pieces but wants to show that Australian influenced architecture can also make a beautiful doll house.
He has a particular love of historic period architecture, particularly in Melbourne and loves the variety of Terrace Houses in suburbs like Parkville, Albert Park and St Kilda.
Building this Terrace House as a 1:12 scale miniature is a bit of a reverse project.  Working backwards to design and build in sequence. This is his first Terrace House and he admits that there were some challenges but these are worked through.  James is planning to build further Terrace Houses.
James is a member of International Guild of Miniature Artisans (which promotes fine miniatures as an art form) and is working towards submitting pieces for assessment for Artisan status.
