The early history of Little Cromla is unknown but the owner has been advised that it started life as a two-door child’s wardrobe.
It is a beautifully made doll house: the windows and door open and close; the front door can be locked. The roof is probably a later addition but it hides a secret storage space - an attic for the miniature residents to store spare furniture.
Due to its origins, Little Cromla is an unusual size. It is not a standard doll house scale; making it harder to furnish. Litte Cromla has been furnished with the largest available German furniture.
Why is it called Little Cromla?
The name is a mystery waiting to be solved but there are two Cromlas of note. Cromla House an early 19th century home and one of the oldest listed houses in the village of Corrie on the Isle of Arran, Scotlandi and Cromla, a house built in 1889 in Sydney for John Campbell, his wife and ten children who were Scottish immigrants from the Isle of Skye.
